Nicholas and Miriam G.
Nicholas and Miriam G.
Nicholas and Miriam G. are the first siblings of six to graduate through high school. We are so excited for them! Nicholas has taken full advantage of the opportunities given to him. He has graduated with the National Honor Society keeping up his grades while taking the metro to N. Hollywood to his Jiujitsu classes everyday and wrestling in the evenings. He’s also hosts a Boys Fellowship at our home with about 30 boys and cooking for them his famous smoke meats and smoked mac n cheese. His motivation is for boys to develop strong friendships as they grow and move on through adulthood. He’s been working on his own smoker, buying barrels and welding them together to hopefully create a side business of smoked meats. He’s placed 3rd in the No Gi Worlds Jiujitsu tournament. He also volunteers in doing worship for his church with his siblings. What we love about Nicholas is that while he is focused in his future, he always has time to put others first in his life. He is enrolled at Mt. Sac to enter into the Aviation Mechanic Program and hopes to also have a side business incorporating his smoked meats and a jiujitsu studio.
Miriam also with Nicholas has taken Jr. College courses at PCC in Pasadena. She’s also made it to the National Honor Society with excellent grades. She loves to dance and has competed with an Independent Dance Group called Dancing for His Glory. They’ve won Championships with the whole teams. She’s been able to hold a job for Garish a Tennis and Swim Club as a grill girl during the summer. She also is a leader in a Girls Fellowship where she sings and she also is involved in doing singing with the youth group and woman’s studies. She is going to be attending PCC to continue in getting her AA and hoping to transfer out to a university.
Their father and I couldn’t be more proud of these two for their hard work and diligence. We know that they will continue to be focused on their goals and also be of service to those around them. It was a privilege and an honor to homeschool them. We are very thankful for the opportunity and we also want to thank our ES, Sheila Jakobsen and Sky Mountain for giving us the sources in accomplishing their desires and dreams. We hope others will see the blessing they could achieve while homeschooling. I wouldn’t change it this great opportunity.
